Ingatkah Anda dengan Lee Yoon Hyung, usia baru 26 tahun, cantik, kaya raya. Bapaknya pimpinan Samsung Grup, raksasa elektronik Korsel, ahli waris Samsung. Kurang apa?
Tapi ternyata dia tidak punya keberanian melanjutkan hidup, usia 26 tahun dia bunuh diri. Buat apa cantik, kaya, tapi bunuh diri.
Tapi bukan itu hikmahnya, Hikmahnya adalah tidak ada hubungannya antara pencapaian finansial dengan kebahagiaan. Jika kekayaan membahagiakan, tentunya Adolf Merckle, orang terkaya di Jerman tidak akan menabrakkan badannnya ke kereta api, tentunya Michael Jackson tidak akan over dosis obat tidur. G. Vargas, presiden Brazil, tidak akan menembak jantungnya sendiri, dan Marilyn Monroe tidak akan over dosis alkohol dan obat depresi. Percayalah, uang hanya akan membahagiakan sampai titik tertentu.
Itu semua bukti nyata bahwa tidak ada hubungannya antara kekayaan, kekuasaan, keindahan paras, dan kebahagiaan. Asalkan hati kita selalu bersyukur, kita bisa bahagia walau hanya duduk dengan secangkir kopi dan keluarga di samping kita.

Lee Yoon-hyung born on April 26, 1979 was a South Korean millionaire and daughter of billionaire and former Samsung Group Chief Lee Kun-hee. Lee Yoon-hyung committed suicide by hanging herself in her Astor Place apartment in the East Village, Manhattan on November 18, 2005. Originally, Lee’s caused of death was reported in both American and South Korean newspapers as a car crash because of the social stigma against suicide, but the actual details were followed and published after inquiries by reporters from The Korea Times. Lee Yoon-hyung was a graduate student at the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at the time of her death, Lee Kun-hee, her father was in the United States in 2005 undergoing treatment for lung cancer. A doorman at her apartment revealed to reporters that Yoon-hyung sometimes stayed in her apartment for a week at a time, and there were also some reports that her father dislike her to marry her Korean boyfriend. Lee had a personal fortune of more than US$157 million at the time of her death. She was survived by her parents, her brother, Lee Jae-yong, and two sisters, Lee Pu-jin and Lee Seo-hyun. Her parents did not attend her funeral.
